Hikvision internal ceiling PIR detector is intended for indoor mounting in locations such as living room, kitchen, hall, bedroom or for use in office premises. This ceiling detector is ideal for rooms that are not square or rectangular in shape, but also very suitable for large rooms due to its huge detection area.
The PIR ceiling detector has the model number DS-PDCL12-EG2-WE and is a fully secure wireless two-way detector with motion detection, tamper protection, low battery monitoring and connection monitoring. It can operate for up to 5 years from a built-in battery. It ignores animals while recognising humans from the first step.
Detection range of the DS-PDCL12-EG2-WE
The Hikvision internal PIR ceiling detector can monitor an area of 12 metres from the sensor for motion in a 360-degree field. So if you place the detector in the middle of a room, the room may be 24 by 24 metres. In fact, the detector can watch each side 12 metres. The sensor divides the area into no less than 172 zones and triggers an alarm if 1 or more zones detect movement. This sensitivity is adjustable via the Hik-Connect application on your smartphone. There are a total of 3 modes, high sensitivity, normal and animal-friendly. The latter should be chosen if cats or dogs are present in the area to be secured. Pets up to 30KG will not be detected in this mode.
Range from the Hikvision Hub
The range from the Hub to the ceiling detector DS-PDCL12-EG2-WE is 1,600 metres in open field. The connection is continuously monitored by the Hikvision Cloud. If the wireless signal is intentionally disrupted, it will be notified immediately via the Hik-Connect app on your smartphone. Called Tri-X, the Hikvision wireless signal operates on 2 different frequencies in the 868mhz band and has AES-128 encryption.

The ideal height to mount the PIR ceiling detector is between 2.4 metres and 4.0 metres high. So you are very flexible in mounting this detector. This also makes it ideally suited to homes with very high ceilings. Mounting the ceiling detector is easy to do yourself. Naturally, all installation supplies are included.
Mounting and installation
All Hikvision products are easy to connect. Logging in is done with a QR code on each device. It's even easier if you activate the "Enroll" function in the Hub settings of the Hik-connect app. All you then have to do to pair a detector is turn it on, and the connection between Hub and detector is ready. It doesn't get any simpler than this.
Battery-powered
The ceiling detector, like all Hikvision AX Pro alarm system products, operates on CR123A type batteries and is therefore completely wireless. They can therefore easily be placed anywhere without having to lay cables. The service life of the batteries supplied as standard is 5 years under normal use. After this time, they can easily be replaced for new ones for a few euros. These batteries are always available from stock.
